Gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

This is a great way to support the wildlife, forests, farms, and waterways of the Upper Saco Valley, and is a tax-savvy way to protect the land.

Donor advised funds (DAFs) are charitable investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute to a DAF you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Those funds can then be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to any IRS-qualified public charity. Essentially a DAF is your own public charity that is established to provide single or recurring grants to your favorite public charities.

If you do not have a DAF, we recommend you speak with your tax, legal or financial advisor to understand the benefits and ways to set up the fund.

If you have a DAF and would like to make a single, recurring or designated grant to USVLT, you can speak to your DAF’s sponsoring organization. They will make the grant donation on your behalf. If you are willing, please let us know that you have recommended a grant to USVLT so we can acknowledge your support. You can recommend a grant to:

Upper Saco Valley Land Trust,
