Dickinson Tolleson Easement

Conservation Easement

October 31, 2014

A conservation easement on the 78-acre Dickinson Tolleson property protects open space and natural scenery along 1,035 feet of natural, undeveloped road frontage on Leavitt Road in Conway.

The conservation agreement allows its mixed coniferous and hardwood forests to thrive, along with the many critters—including moose, white-tailed deer and wild turkey—that call this woodland home. The forested upland of the area provides a significant unbroken block of wildlife habitat, which promotes greater species diversity.

Future forest management on the property will be conducted under the supervision of a licensed NH Forester and according to a written Forest Stewardship Plan using "Best Management Practices", which promote sustainable forestry, wildlife habitat improvement and the protection of surface and groundwater quality.
